Kathmandu, June 7: The Federal Alliance has staged relay hunger strike from today after changing its form of the agitation.

The Alliance that launched protest programmes in Tarai and Kathmandu in different phases has staged relay hunger strike at Open Theater from this morning.

According to the Alliance, it staged relay hunger strike to exert more pressure on government after it did not address Alliance’s demands.
Co-Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Rajendra Shrestha, said that the Alliance was compelled to stage relay hunger strike after the government turned indifferent to their demands.
Top leaders of Madhesi Morha–Uprendra Yadav, Ashok Rai, Renu Yadav, Sarat Singh Bhandari, among others are participating in the relay hunger strike.

Twenty-nine parties including Madhesi Morcha are associated with the Alliance, which has been expressing dissatisfaction over some issues of the new constitution including delineation of provinces.
