Parbat, April 13: Baishakh Sankranti, today, the beginning of the holy month of Baishakh (Nepali calendar) is celebrated in Nepal with a high spirit.
The day is special to Nepal and Nepali people as the New Year. It is the most exciting for youths and having religious importance for basically adults. People mark it organizing various greeting exchange programmes across the country.
Meanwhile, people are having holy dips in holy Kaligandaki River today.
A large number of people have thronged Modibeni Dham, Jaiminighat, Setibeni, Purtighat, Nayapul, Galeshwor Dham since early morning for holy bath on the occasion of New Year. People from Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Kaski, Syangja and Gulmi districts throng here for holly baths.
Meanwhile, a special fair is organized at Modibeni and Setibeni on the occasion today.
