Melamchi, May 31: Kedar Basnet and his spouse Pramila Basnet who have been residing in Canada provided financial assistance to three people who lost their parents and relatives during the devastating earthquake.
The Basnet couple on Tuesday provided Rs 40,000 to Ram Tamang of Sindhupalchowk Ichok-2, Rs 24,000 to Kashiram Tamang and Rs 16,000 to Lal Bahadur Khadka of Palchowk-4 through the Nepal Janasamparka Samiti Canada Chapter.
Ram lost his parents to the earthquake that occurred last year. Likewise, Kamiram had lost his relatives while Khadka’s mother and sister-in-law were killed in the calamity.
At a programme organized by Nepali Congress, Sindhupalchowk Constituency No 3, senior journalist duo Harihar Birahi and Kabir Rana and NC general convention member Bamsha Lal Tamang, among others, handed over the amount to the earthquake survivors, said NC Sindhupalchowk Constituency No 3 President Aaita Man Tamang.
The aid recipients extended their thanks to the Basnet couple for their generous support on the occasion.
