Biratnagar, Sept 22: Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hitraj Pandey has sought change in the current working style of government employees.
During his visit to the District Administration Office Morang today, he directed chiefs of district-based government offices to give up old mentality and working style so as to meet the targets set by the new constitution. The country has already switched to a federal set-up and it was the demand of time that performance of government employees should be changed accordingly, he said.
He suggested government employees for reading the constitution and helping the people get their rights guaranteed by the main law of the country.
“Constitution’s enforcement, taking the remaining task of peace process to a logical conclusion, attaining economic progress and durable peace, promoting good governance and holding local poll are the main priorities of the government,” he said, urging government employees to assist the government to meet these priorities.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer Toyam Ray apprised the Minister of activities taking place in the district.
The Minister was apprised of manpower shortage to monitor smuggling of river products and market irregularities in the district and of problems being faced by flood victims here.
